Alex Song has hinted that he would like to make a permanent move to West Ham

West Ham are flying high in the Premier League this season and Barcelona loan star Alex Song has no doubt played a key piece in the Hammers recovery. Although the East End club drew 1-1 with Sunderland at the weekend, West Ham are 4th in the Premier League table with 28 points.

French club Marseille, who are keeping tabs on the Cameroon player, would like to sign him from Barcelona but the Hammers want to make Song’s move a permanent one. Song fits in so well at West Ham and the fans love him as he’s added something special to their midfield.

Le10Sport have reported on some comments from the Barcelona loan player and he said that if he were to leave Barcelona it would be for England. Song has had interest from all the top leagues including France, Turkey and Italy but doesn’t regret his move to London one bit.

“I’ve always said: If I leave Barcelona, it is to return to England. This summer, I could have signed for a club in Italy, France, and Turkey, but I never wanted to. People asked me why I signed for West Ham , but I don’t regret it ,” said the ex Arsenal star.

Alex Song arrived from Barcelona in the summer and has made a huge impact on the team. He was deemed surplus to requirements under new manager Luis Enrique and a loan deal was a good way out for the 27 year-old.

With the addition of Alex Song, West Ham have made some terrific signings this season with Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia. The Hammers look in good shape this season and with a top four place at the moment, who knows, it might lead to a place in Europe for the east London outfit.
