Barça loses second La Liga match on the trot

Luis Enrique

FC Barcelona were defeated for the second time in a row with Luis Enrique adamant that his team shouldn’t have lost. The coach was right, how could Barcelona lose against the manager’s old club Celta Vigo by a goal to nil?

Barça hit the woodwork on many occasions but the ball would not find the back of the net. Fans are now questioning Luis Enrique’s tactics as Barcelona have now lost their second La Liga match in a row and handed the top position to Real Madrid – who seem to be cooking on gas at the moment!

Celta’s Joaquin Larrivey’s goal was enough for the visitors to take all three points back to Galicia while Barcelona were unlucky not to score after dominating the game from the outset.

Luis Enrique had these words to say after the match:

“I think we deserved to win this match. Unfortunately, football is a capricious sport that only rewards the team who scores goals, I mean the team that is effective and today we haven’t done that.

Celta’s goalkeeper has done amazing and today it wasn’t our day and we had this scoreline.”

“Moreover it happens in an ‘friendly’ week, in an interesting week and in a week where the time of criticism starts.”

“But it is our responsibility to stand up, all of us, the stuff, the managers, the players, the club. We have to move forward.”

To make matters worse, Barça lost against the manager’s former club, so Luis Enrique can have no excuses for being surprised by their quality.

‘I already knew the opponent’s predisposition so I was expecting a game like this,’ he added. ‘I’d rather like to control it better in more aspects.
