The transfer ban imposed by FIFA on FC Barcelona will end in January 2016. But despite this fact, a number of big name players are now being linked to a possible move to the Catalan side. Among them are Paul Pogba of Juventus and Marco Reus of Dortmund. Luciano Vietto, who is currently with Villarreal is also reported to be on Barca’s shortlist.
Pogba, whose talents were overlooked by Sir Alex Ferguson while he was still with Manchester United has developed into one of the best midfielders today during his stay with Juventus. The young Frenchman is now the target of most big clubs in Europe including his former team. Barcelona is reported to be among those who are very interested in acquiring his services, but with the ban other clubs might get a hold of Pogba this summer. Unconfirmed reports say that Juventus are currently in talks with PSG over Pogba. If this is true, Barcelona should just forget about having Pogba join their team.
The other big name on Barca’s list is Marco Reus of Dortmund. The German has also been the target of many big clubs in Europe. With Dortmund falling into a slump in the first part of the season, many thought he’ll finally make a move to another club, but a lot of people were surprised when he signed a new contract for Dortmund which lasts for five years. Whether this will finally end the hope of other teams to sign him still remains unclear because in football anything can happen. A year ago, who would’ve thought that Luis Suarez who just had a spectacular season in the EPL will be playing for Barca this season.
The other notable players who are also believed to be in Barcelona’s list are Vietto of Villarreal and Dybala of Palermo. However, some say that it’s doubtful these two players will consider making a move to Barca because of playing time issues. Both of them are regular starters in their respective teams, but if they become part of Barca’s line-up, being included in the first eleven is not a guarantee.
As of now, these are just reports of possible Barcelona targets on the transfer market once they finally become eligible again to participate on it next year.
