FC Barcelona gave another exhibition in football on sunday against Levante in a 5-0 whitewash. The Catalans produced another stunning display of football to make it four unbeaten games in a row. Luis Enrique’s team appears to be functioning at the highest level.
Ok, maybe they haven’t played a top level club yet, but the signs are there that this Barça won’t be taking any prisoners this year and will not be helping any of the other La Liga teams in their quest for the title – this Barça is flying solo.
Goals came from Neymar, Rakitic, Sandro and Pedro with little Leo Messi putting the cherry on top with a wonderful cheeky textbook lob over the Levante goalkeeper, who’ll be having nightmares for the rest of the season!
Luis Enrique has his Barça cooking on gas this season and it shows. Everyone is helping each other out and there is a good team spirit. Sometimes there is luck, but sometimes you have to go and find your own luck and this is what Barcelona is doing. It’s a long way from Guardiola’s Barça who won everything, but it’s on the right track, make no mistake about that!
Neymar was by the far best player for Barcelona until the medics advised him to come off – he appears to have a slight sprain on his ankle. Another notable display came from Rakitic, as he controlled his area helping out Mathieu, too when he gave the ball away.
Levante’s Loukas Vyntra was sent off just before half time and Leo sent the penalty kick into the “gods”. The second half started and Barça was playing against a ten man Levante side which made it child’s play for Luis Enrique’s side.
Real Madrid beat Deportivo by a whopping 2-8 at the weekend as “Los Blancos” continue their advance on the title race.FC Barcelona have managed a maximum of 12 points from their first four games and are current leaders. Second is Sevilla with 10 points and third are the “colchoneros” with 8. Real Madrid have only managed 5 points out of 4 games and are in seventh position with a slightly better goal difference than Barça.
