With Louis van Gaal poised to be announced Manchester United’s new manager, Dutch legend Edgar Davids says that the move will bring in structure to the club.
The Daily Star writes today that the former Dutch midfielder will give the club a much needed overhaul after a disappointing campaign in which the Red Devils achieved their lowest ever position in the Premier League.
“United should take him. I worked with him a long time ago, but he’s a top manager. He goes into a club and he puts in the structure. He did it by putting in a foundation of young players at Barcelona and Bayern Munich and look at the results, said Edgar Davids.”
The former Ajax, Barcelona and Juventus midfielder was a part of the incredible setup that Louis van Gaal had at Ajax in the 90’s that managed to win three Dutch league titles, the UEFA Cup and the Champions League.
The horror year that United suffered under David Moyes will be a thing of the past once van Gaal gets to grip with the club and his great knowledge of european football will benefit the Red Devils no end.
Hi expertise will put United back where they belong, at the top and van Gaal will provide the footballing blueprint to do just that. And despite van Gaal’s reputation as a prickly customer which we saw at Barcelona, the players always come out in full support of the Dutchman.
The Bleacher report says that the Dutch coach has a knack for inspiring loyalty in his playing staff as they fully buy into his tactical mantra.
United need a man like Van Gaal at the helm. A man who is strong and decisive, and one who understands that at the very top end of the game only victory is acceptable.
These are exciting new times for Manchester United and the Dutchman will be the right man for the job. With class players like Adnan Januzaj, James Wilson and the soon to come Luke Shaw, van Gaal has the necessary youth to get United to the top again.
