Carles Puyol tests himself in 45 minute game

Carles Puyol training
After seven months without playing and a string of injuries and surgeries, Carles Puyol has returned to put on the Barca captain’s armband to play a few minutes. He played as central defender sharing responsibilities with fellow teammate Javier Mascherano, who has also recovered from his physical problems.

Gerardo Martino had all his players available with the exception of the injured Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Isaac Cuenca. The first team completed the lineup for the first half with the Barca B team bringing up the rear with an absolute majority in the second half.

Martino ‘s idea was to observe the progress of Carles Puyol. The centre-back has been improving much in his fitness and could even be part of the squad for the next league match away against Osasuna on 19th October.

Barcelona’s goals were the work of Pol Calvet, Denis Suárez and Planes from the B team and Munir from the Juvenile A team. Sant Andreu’s goal came courtesy of Boris Garrós Torrent.

About Aaron

My name's Aaron and I'm a great Barça fan. I like to tell it like it is and if there is something I don't like about the club or something that needs addressing, you'll know!
