Neymar: “No one can match Leo Messi”

Neymar has just collected the “King of America” or Rey de América award for best South American player and said that he couldn’t be better than Leo Messi because that would be impossible.

However, the Santos superstar still does not believe that it is the right time to play in Europe.

Neymar was speaking in Montevideo, where he picked up the award from the Uruguayan newspaper, El Pais. The Santos striker whose movements are closely followed by Barca only had praise for Lionel Messi and said: “At the moment, no one can match Messi.” The Brazil striker added: “Messi won the Ballon d’Or award for all he achieved last year.”

20 year-old Neymar still doesn’t see  himself  in Messi’s class just yet. In fact, the young Brazilian has not even thought about becoming the best player on the planet.

“My goal is to help my team Santos and my country Brazil – to be the best is a result of all the hard work put in,” he told reporters.

Neymar refused to comment on his future and said that no agreement has been made with FC Barcelona or anyone else.

“The only thing I have signed is with Santos and I am happy because it is a great club with which I have a contract until 2014,” he said.

The striker went on to say that he intends to fulfill his commitments to the club of his life. “The most important thing is happiness and I’m happy with my family, my friends and my club,” he added.

The Brazilian maestro also made it clear to the press that when it’s time to leave Santos, he promises to tell everyone. “Now is not the right time to leave Santos and I don’t just have one team that I would like to play for as there are a lot of good clubs in the world,” he said.
