Frank Lampard relishing Barca tie

Chelsea’s Frank Lampard has said that he is looking forward to the semi final draw with Barca after Chelsea beat Benfica 2-1 last night to set up the showdown.

Apparently neither Chelsea nor their fans have forgotten what happened in 2009 at Stamford Bridge when Barca beat the blues 4-2 after some very controversial decisions that gave Barca a ticket to the final. Frank said that Barca are the best team in the world and to beat them Chelsea would have to put in the performance of a lifetime and be at their very best.

Lampard said: “They are going to be favourites because of the way they are playing.

“We know we’ll have to perform at our absolute best to beat them and we believe we can do that.”

Jose Mourinho on the other hand doesn’t fancy the blues chances against the Catalan giants.

“Let me be honest, I don’t think the final will be Real Madrid against Chelsea.

“It can be Bayern, it can be Barcelona, I just don’t think it will be Real Madrid and Chelsea.”

This really sets up a nice tie and Barca will be up for this game more than ever. Chelsea has unfinished business with Barca according to Lampard and the Catalans await them with open arms.
