Pinto injured due to state of pitch

Barcelona number 2 keeper José Manuel Pinto had to leave yesterday’s training session after he picked up an injury due to the poor state of the pitch. It’s the same pitch that the Catalan club will be using today in their final match as part of their Asia Tour pre-season and the club are asking for guarantees otherwise they won’t play. Pinto in action against his old club Celta Vigo today

Jose Manuel Pinto will be called into action against his old club Celta Vigo today at the Estadio Municipal de Balaídos. With regular keeper Victor Valdes banned for four games due to the controversy with the referee at the Santiago Bernabeu, the doors have been opened for the keeper from Cádiz which will spark many memories as Pinto spent 10 years of his career at Celta Vigo.

Barca’s Pinto renews contract until June 2014

Barca’s charismatic number two goalkeeper has just renewed his contract that’ll keep him at the Catalan club until June 2014. 37 year old Jose Manuel Pinto who was born in El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, Andalusia, came to Barcelona on loan from Celta in the 2007/8 season and has played 52 games for the club.
