FC Barcelona has been shaken by the news that their star player will be out of action for at least two months. Leo Messi suffered another relapse of his nagging hamstring injury and will be sitting it out for two long months while he recovers. Carles Puyol tests himself in 45 minute game

FC Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has taken another step in his road to recovery and has played 45 minutes in a friendly match behind closed doors against Sant Andreu, a club that plays in the III group of the Second Division B, which resulted in a clear 4-1 in favour of the Catalans. Isaac Cuenca back training, Carles Puyol almost ready

Barcelona’s Isaac Cuenca, who underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in May of this year, has been back in training, as reported by the Catalan club.

Cuenca, who played last season on loan at Ajax of Amsterdam, had surgery to address the discomfort he had in the lateral meniscus in his right knee and has been recovering since early June. Continue reading

Carles Puyol joined up with the debut of Tito Vilanova’s son Adrià for a training session for the first team and all indications point to the readiness of the Barca captain. Barca captain Carles Puyol still not ready to play

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has suffered a slight setback which rules him out for the time being. The Catalan was penciled in for the game against Sevilla at the weekend but it now seems unlikely.

Messi back in training and likely for second leg of Supercup

Leo Messi is back in training and likely for the second leg of the Spanish Supercup final against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening at the Nou Camp. Leo trained with his teammates yesterday after missing the second half of the Supercup and Sunday’s match against Malaga in the league where Barca won 0-1.

Barca captain Carles Puyol trotted out onto the grass at the club’s training ground and came away from a session with a smile on his face.
