It was a great match at the Camp Nou last night and Barca had to come from behind then from a 2-2 to finally beat the Andulusian side by 4 goals to 2. Pepe Mel’s team put on a terrific display and Rubén Pérez scored an absolute blinder to put Betis in front. The Catalans can win the league this week if Real Madrid fail to beat Malaga. Ander Herrera makes Barca wait for title
Athletic Bilbao were up for the challenge and got on the scoreboard before Barcelona on Saturday at the Cathedral in Bilbao. The game ended up in a 2-2 draw which means that Barcelona have to put their La Liga celebrations on ice for another week courtesy of Ander Herrera who scored in the dying seconds of the game. Cesc Fabregas provided the get out of jail card that Barca needed to beat a stubborn Levante. It was a game with incidents where the ref failed to see a handball from levante and also disallowed a Levante goal for offside when it was clearly onside. it was a disappointing game for Barca with no leo Messi looking ahead to Tuesday’s game in Munich. Barca makes sure at Zaragoza with 3-0 win
It was left up to Barca’s youth academy boys to fire the Catalans to a 3 nil win over Zaragoza yesterday. Goals came from Thiago Alcántara and Christian Tello, who snatched a brace with a great performance to match. Abidal plays in 5-0 whitewash of Mallorca
Barca defender Eric Abidal finally got to play for the Catalan club again as he substituted Gerard Piqué in the 24th minute of the second half. It was an exciting match at the Nou Camp where Barca gave Mallorca a 5 nil hiding. Alexis found his mojo and scored two great goals but the night belonged to Cesc Fabregás who netted a hat-trick. Messi scores and Barca draws in Balaídos
Barcelona gave away two valuable points on Saturday night at the Balaidos stadium in Vigo. The match ended in a 2-2 draw with Tello getting Barca’s first and Messi knocking in the second in which is his 19th consecutive match finding the back of the net. The sky blue shirts of Celta played well and scored two goals to equalise the match via Insa and their captain, Oubiña.
Messi and Villa take care of Rayo Vallecano
It may have been Jordi Roura’s last match at the helm of Barca but what a night it was! The connection between David Villa and Leo Messi was magical and both players ended up on the scoresheet. Between them, they took care of business and put wind in Barca’s sails once again with a fantastic display of football that ended up 3-1 to Barcelona.
