Victor Valdes hit with 4 match ban after outburst

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has been hit with a four match ban that will keep him out of the league clashes against Deportivo, Rayo Vallecano, Celta Vigo and Mallorca. Barca receives the least amount of cards for fouls committed

Last Wednesday’s Copa del Rey semi final clash at the Santiago Bernabéu saw Real Madrid receive three yellow cards for a total of 19 fouls committed. On the other hand, Barcelona was shown the same amount of cards for just five fouls committed. Barcelona averages a card for every 6.15 fouls committed to Real Madrid’s 5.27. Espanyol is the worst with a card for every 3.86 fouls committed.

Victor Valdes not to renew his contract with Barca

The representatives of Barcelona’s Victor Valdes have told the club at a meeting this afternoon that the goalkeeper will not renew his contract with FC Barcelona. Valdes’ contract runs out on 30th June 2014 and will not be renewing. Valdes has already said this month that he would like a change of scenery and would like to try other cultures and football before he finally retires from football.
