FC Barcelona Books Ticket to Champions League Final Despite 3-2 Loss in Munich

bayern vs barcelona 2015

Bayern Munich looked determined at the start of the match on Tuesday night to accomplish what most football experts refer to as a ‘Mission Impossible.’ The Germans need to score three more goals than Barca in the second leg to be able to qualify in the final stage of the Champions League.

Achieving the impossible seemed to be possible momentarily for Bayern after Benatia scored the opening goal of the match after just seven minutes of play. However, Neymar was able to quickly put Barca back on track after he scored the first goal for Barca on the 15th minute. Then, he ended the hopes of any possible Bayern comeback after scoring another goal on the 29th minute. The aggregate score now stands at 5-1. Bayern must score five more goals in order to be back on the UCL final. Everyone knew this was the end for Bayern. Robert Lewandowski and Muller were able to score two more goals for the Bavarians in the second half to make the final tally 3-2. Barca lost this match, but they’re on their way to the final in Berlin on June 6 as the total aggregate score of their semifinal series with Bayern is 5-3.

The South American strike force of Messi, Suarez and Neymar (or MSN as they’re now called) once again played a very important part in this match. Neymar scored twice but both Messi and Suarez also played important parts on those goals. The trio now forms what could be the most formidable frontline in football. Messi is one of the greatest football players of all time, Neymar is on his way to become one, and Suarez although not on the same level as Messi, is definitely one of the best players today. After less than a year of playing together, they have gelled perfectly well and are now unstoppable. The season isn’t over yet, but they have already scored a total of 114 goals.

This will be Barcelona’s eighth appearance in the Champions League Final. Their last appearance was four years ago in Wembley. They beat Manchester United in that match to win their last European Cup trophy. Hopefully, they’ll win the title again this year.
