Recognition of FC Barcelona’s amateur sections

Mens-volleyball3

On Monday I was invited to the recognition of FC Barcelona’s amateur sections by the amateur volleyball team. The event brought together more than a thousand athletes who received from Barça President Bartomeu and Vice President Cardona new membership cards that will now serve to fully identify this group of amateur sports stars and their loyalty to the Catalan club.

The event took place at the Palau Blaugrana on Monday afternoon with all members of the amateur teams of FC Barcelona for the presentation and recognition of the teams. In charge of the presentation were club president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the vice president of the Social Area Jordi Cardoner who is responsible for these sections at an institutional level, Board Member Jordi Mones, responsible for the medical area, performance and athletics, along with Pau Vilanova, Director of the Social Area.

More than 1,000 athletes, coaches, delegates and members of the various sport committees, accompanied by their family and friends filled the stands of the Palau Blaugrana on an evening where the amateur teams of Barcelona were the protagonists. The event started with a family photo with President Bartomeu and Vice President Cardona. Then all four directors were invited to the stage along with the 12 captains of the nine amateur sections that are made up of; athletics, rugby, men’s volleyball, ice skating, ice hockey, grass hockey, women’s volleyball, wheelchair basketball and women’s basketball.

Membership cards

The event also served to introduce a new membership card, a credential that will serve to identify all players of the amateur teams of FC Barcelona in addition to offering a range of advantages.

The two youngest players of each section were in charge of collecting these cards, which will later be given to the other members of the teams.
