Barcelona midfielder Andrés Iniesta says that the Catalan giants must start to believe again. His rallying call comes after Barça thrashed Córdoba 5-0 which included a strike from Luis Suárez, his first Spanish League goal so far this season.
Barça are now just a point behind la Liga leaders Real Madrid and the midfielder, who’s just come back from a calf injury, wants his side to start believing in themselves again.
Speaking to Barça TV, Iniesta said: “It’s mission accomplished, now I have a few days off with the family, but I won’t stop thinking about La Liga. I’m eager to return.”
“The idea is to try to maintain this high point for the rest of the season, so things can get better.
“What we have to ask ourselves is why we are good. We enjoy what we do, it’s what earns us our headlines, but the main thing is to train well and enjoy it, and hopefully the good work leads us to titles.
“We have to believe in what we do and think that things will turn out well if we improve. We must think beyond winning and losing and go step by step. The important thing is to have both ambition and enthusiasm.
With players like Iniesta getting firmly behind the cause and believing in a better Barça, it can only be positive for the Nou Camp side. With Gerard Piqué starting to fire on all cylinders again along with Pedro and now Luis Suárez, things are looking good for the Catalans as they go into the holiday season just a point behind Real.
