FC Barcelona’s Jordi Alba is wanted by Premier League giants Manchester United and Manchester City according to reports.
According to the Daily Star, Barcelona defender Jordi Alba is being targeted by both Manchester City and Manchester United as a possible option as neither Louis van Gaal nor Manuel Pellegrini are happy with their current options at left-back. However, there may be a spanner in the works as the Catalan giants are unlikely to want to sell the star.
The former ace who joined FC Barcelona from Valencia has reportedly numerous offers on the table and now Man Utd and Man City have joined the quest for the left back.
Alba is regarded as one of the best in his position and has captivated the attention of Louis van Gaal with Pellegrini adding his name to the list as the City defense has been shaky lately. City are prepared to bay big for Alba and Barça would use the spending power of the Etihad club to their full advantage and would undoubtedly hike the price if they thought City were keen. The same would go for United, who’s also spent big over the summer.
Obviously Barcelona would have to find a replacement for Alba first or have one in line before even contemplating selling one of their top assets.
