FC Barcelona Ready For PSG Clash Says Luis Enrique

FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique says his team is ready to take on Paris Saint-Germain and will not change his plan of attack despite the fact that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be playing in the clash.

After such a positive start to the season, there are high expectations of this Barcelona side, despite tonight’s crunch being the hardest test so far of Luis Enrique’s campaign so far. It’s alright knocking in 6 goals against lowly Granada as they did at the weekend, but tonight the Blaugranas will have a chance to prove their worth on the European stage.

Speaking ahead of the clash in a press conference, Luis Enrique said that: “We won’t be changing our line-up plans for the fact that he won’t be playing. He is an important loss for them, he would be for any side but we won’t be changing our plans. With him or without him, Paris Saint-Germain are still a very dangerous side – one with a lot of resources”.

The Barça manager also said that winning an away game would be an attractive proposition and that his team will try everything to get the 3 points. “We are motivated by the rival we will be facing and the venue. Winning away from home is always attractive – and important. We are just going to focus on being the better team, we’ll see if we can do that”

Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc mentioned that unlike other teams who face Barça, PSG will not sit back and wait. Luis Enrique however, said that the playing style of the French champions will not change the philosophy of FC Barcelona. “From what I do know about PSG, I know that they can play man-for-man perfectly well. What I am expecting them to do tomorrow? Any coach will tell you not to pay much attention to what is said by our fellow colleagues prior to the game. PSG are aspirants to win the Champions League. However they play tomorrow, we have to respond – whether they pressurise us or sit back and wait for us”.

It is sure to be an exciting clash tonight and Barça are gearing themselves up for a tough game. If PSG come out and attack as Laurent Blanc has promised, Barcelona will not have it easy. The Blaugranas need to have players like Neymar, Messi and Rakitic in full flow for tonight’s showdown in Paris.
