It looks like ex Barcelona and Arsenal FC midfielder Cesc Fàbregas may have the last laugh as he’s proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the English Premier League so far this season.
Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea is cooking on gas at the moment and it’s all down to two of his star signings – Cesc and Costa.
While Costa keeps finding the net for Chelsea, he scored a hat-trick against Swansea on Saturday in their 4-2 win, Fàbregas has picked up where he left off in the Premier League and has provided a record busting 6 assists in as many games for the Blues.
Both players have adapted well in the Premier League and signing Fàbregas is proving to be one of the smartest moves by Jose Mourinho. The Gunners didn’t want him or was surplus to requirements,so the story goes. Whatever the case, one cannot think the North London club made a complete mistake over not signing Cesc, especially when he admitted the other day that he’ll always be a Gunner! Maybe Arsene Wenger decide that Jack Wilshere was the man to back this year. Maybe Wenger was right in this case as midfielder Wilshere is on fire and Welsh international Aaron Ramsey, who’s also a midfielder, is also a great player.
Fàbregas is linking up well with Brazilian born Spain international Diego Costa and they are making Chelsea a team to be reckoned with this campaign. Meanwhile, Louis van Gaal’s revamped united secured a great win over QPR on Sunday with a 4-0 thrashing of Harry Redknapp’s team. Goals came from Ángel Di María, Wayne Rooney, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata. Both Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind played well and this may be a message to the rest of the Premier League as the new boss promises more goals as United seek a top 3 finish this year.
