Barcelona is running out of time

andoni zubizarreta

Barcelona is running out of time if they are to complete their squad for this season it has been revealed. But it’s not only this season but it’s next season too!

Yes, in effect Barça has JUST 12 DAYS to find and finish any signings that will complete the squad for this season and next!

Zubizarreta’s skills and judgement will now be tested to their limits as the Sporting Director gets his crystal ball out out to second guess the club’s needs for the 2015/16 as well as the current one. He will have to anticipate players leaving and find replacements within 12 days!

This has come about due to FIFA’s decision to uphold their ban on Barcelona over signings and Andoni Zubizarreta will now be tested like never before. He will have to assess new signings, loan deals and make sure the dressing room doesn’t get overcrowded either.

The Catalan giants have already spent €154M euros this summer in signings and now they look set to break the record books in a bid to outwit FIFA’s sanction. Barcelona spent this cash still not knowing the outcome of FIFA and now it looks like they are going to have to break the bank in a bid to second guess any possible changes in next year’s squad.

Obviously Barça will appeal to the Court of Arbitration to see if the ban gets lifted or partially lifted so at least they could carry out transfers in either the winter or summer markets.

This is a blow to Barcelona but I think they should trust their famous youth academy, La Masia a little bit more and start producing players that can play in other areas apart from the midfield.

About Aaron

My name's Aaron and I'm a great Barça fan. I like to tell it like it is and if there is something I don't like about the club or something that needs addressing, you'll know!
