Marco Reus is angry with Barcelona over snubbing him for Luis Suárez. Reus is also angry because he turned down a chance to join Manchester United and feels Barça have led him on.
The 25 year old German international and his agent Volker Struth believed a switch to the Nou Camp was all but a done deal after months of negotiations only for Barça new boss Luis Enrique to favour Suárez over him.
Andoni Zubizarreta, Barcelona’s sporting director is said to have wanted Reus only for the new boss to scupper his plans to bring him to the Nou Camp.
This has incensed the player because he wanted to link up with fellow compatriot Marc Andre ter Stegen and has slammed the Catalans for leading him on and making him turn down interest from Manchester United.
It is well known that United had been looking at Marco Reus and an offer for the 25 year old had been put forward only for his club Borussia Dortmund to refuse it as it didn’t meet the expectations of the player.
The Red Devils were then put off making any improved bids as Reus made it clear that he preferred joining the Catalans to the Premier League giants. This is what has angered the young German.
Now with new manager Louis Van Gaal at the helm, it is unsure whether interest will be reignited for Reus as the Red Devils are reportedly looking at Arturo Vidal of Juventus.
There may not be a need for Reus now at Old Trafford given the talent they have there and we are sure that Jurgen Klopp would relish the chance to keep one of his prized assets at dortmund for at least another season.
