Not content with signing just Toni Kroos, Real Madrid have upped their game and are focussing on signing World Cup sensation James Rodríguez from Monaco.
James is the subject of a touted €80m move to the Santiago Bernabéu this summer and the 23 year old looks likely to form Real Madrid’s trio of superstars linking up with Bale and Ronaldo. Barcelona have their trio of Neymar, Messi and Suárez and Rodríguez is the key in Real’s own particular trio of superstars. It looks like the Galáctico mentality is back – for both teams!
If James Rodríguez does sign for the Blancos, the current Real Madrid squad should see a shift. that means that Isco could either be loaned out to AC Milan or Liverpool with Ángel Di María also departing soon. Likely places for Di María include Manchester United but French outfit Paris Saint-Germain could also be in with a shout.
PSG have reportedly offered the Argentine around £120,000 a week in wages and would have to offload World Cup star Ezequiel Lavezzi and Lucas Moura in order to land Di María.
Meanwhile back at the Nou Camp, Barcelona’s bid for Valencia’s Jeremy Mathieu has seemed to hit a stone wall. However, Barça could now turn their attentions on another World Cup star in the shape of Dutchman Daley Blind. The Ajax star impressed this month at the World Cup and was seen on a boat in Catalonia. Coincidence? We don’t think so.
The Manchester United target’s agent hasn’t denied the rumours either, sparking rumours that Barcelona could land their man pretty soon.
El classico of next season will be something else
