Bravo signs for Barca and still interested in shamed Suárez

claudio bravo signs for Barcelona

Stopper Claudio Bravo signed for Barcelona on a four year deal which is estimated at around €12m euros which includes his release clause fee.German keeper Marc-André ter Stegen will be Barça’s number one with Bravo bringing up the rear in a similar way to José Manuel Pinto although the Chilean keeper from Real Sociedad will keep the young German on his toes and provide some healthy competition.

Meanwhile, despite Luis Suárez’s disgraceful behaviour at the World Cup, Barcelona are continuing in their pursuit of the Uruguayan with Spanish newspaper Marca stating that “Barcelona have made an important step towards signing Luis Suárez for next season. The ‘Azulgrana’ club has received a ‘yes’ from the Uruguayan, who wants to become part of Luis Enrique’s team after the summer.”

The starting figure for negotiations for Suárez is said to be €87.5 million, which is the player’s buyout clause. No doubt, Barcelona will not be prepared to stretch to that figure and will try to get it lowered substantially.

In order to do this, the Catalan club may have to resort to “deal sweeteners” in the shape of Tello, Alexis, Song or Pedro to be able to make it happen.

While Bartomeu is gloating in “securing a yes” from the Uruguayan, maybe he doesn’t yet realise that other clubs may not be interested in the World Cup vampire after his shameful attempt to bite Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini.

The question arises as to whether the Catalan club, which prides itself on “impeccable behaviour” and “honour”, should be associated with a player that has bitten off more than he can chew (sorry for the pun) in both the Dutch League and the English Premier League.
