Alba is not for sale says Barça

With Manchester United target Luke Shaw still not a done deal for the Red Devils, FC Barcelona have told the Old Trafford outfit to back off regarding any talk about Jordi Alba according to Spanish sports paper Mundo Deportivo.

United have been interested in Alba in case the Luke Shaw deal falls through and Barcelona are not impressed that their man is a target for the Premier League giants.

Although Jordi Alba only managed to notch up 21 appearances last season, he is still regarded a quality player in Europe and may not be part of Barcelona’s summer clearout under new coach Luis Enrique.

18 year old Luke shaw is currently on England duty in Brazil and the Red Devils wanted to line up Alba as a left back in case things went sour for the Southampton player.

Manchester United also find themselves in the middle of a rebuilding program with new manager Louis van Gaal also in Brazil with the Dutch national side.

On another note, Barcelona look set to slog it out with manchester United for the signature of Atlético Madrid’s Miranda. Apparently neither club want to pay the release clause and the player himself has stated that he wants a move away to either Barça or United. Atlético are not happy and look set to make it difficult for the player to leave this summer.

Squawka says that Miranda, 29, was a rock at the heart of Atletico Madrid’s defence last season as they won La Liga and reached the Champions League final, only for their triumph cruelly to be taken away from them with one minute left on the clock as Sergio Ramos sent the game to extra time.
