Is Cesc Fabregàs ready to return to the Premier League?

With lots of transfer rumours flying around this morning, one name that keeps popping up is Cesc Fabregàs. With websites stating that the player will be playing at the Etihad and others denying the rumour, Spanish newspaper and website Mundo Deportivo has said today that Fabregàs’ agent Darren Dein has had talks with a few Premier League clubs and has even struck a deal with one of them. although the identity of the club is not known, it is believed to be Brendan Rogers’ Liverpool according to MD.

However, both Manchester United and Arsenal still have interest in the player but that appears to be waning as the clubs are looking at other options. Wenger appears more interested in bring in a more attacking midfielder as opposed to a playmaker like Fabregàs and Louis van Gaal’s replacing of David Moyes has cooled the interest the Old Trafford club once had in Cesc.

Cesc is said to be a victim of Barcelona’s new cycle as the club need to offload lots of players in order to draft in new squad members that will fit in with both the club and new manager Luis Enrique’s plans. There are a handful of stars that still command decent money and Fabregàs is one of them. The price being whispered for Cesc’s signature is around €40m euros.

One thing is sure that could sway Fabregàs to return to the Premier League is the fact that his children have been brought up in London and his wife would be keen a move back to England.

Although Arsene Wenger still retains the right of first refusal for his ex skipper, he may end up passing the opportunity up as his budget is tight and has his eyes set on Borussia Dortmund’s midfielder Sven Bender.
