Neymar and Alba will be out between 3 and 4 weeks
It’s bad news from Barcelona’s infirmary as Neymar Jr and Jordi Alba cannot be counted on for the next month. This is a critical time for Barcelona when these two players could have given the Blaugrana’s chances a real boost in their quest for the Spanish League title.
Jordi Alba has pulled his hamstring while ex Santos star Neymar has bruising in the fourth metatarsal of his left foot. Barça looks set to lose out on both players for at least a month.
However, there could be some good news on the horizon with Marc Bartra. The defender hasn’t been ruled against Athletic Bilbao at the Camp Nou on Sunday. Bartra suffered some muscle fatigue in his right hamstring.
None of these three players participated in Thursday’s training session, which was the first after the painful defeat to Real Madrid in the Kings Cup on Wednesday.
The squad will return to training on Friday (this morning) to begin preparations for their next La Liga tie on Sunday against Athletic Bilbao.
