Manchester United or Barcelona?

The race is on for Borussia Dortmund’s manager Jurgen Klopp and the three clubs in line to make with his services look likely to be Manchester United, Barcelona and Spurs. Both Barcelona and Manchester United have performed well below their expectations this season and both David Moyes and Gerardo Martino look set to get their marching orders.

The Mirror expects Martino to be dismissed at the end of the season. While the Catalans are currently third in the League with still a chance to take the top spot, the Catalan club are usually running away with the title at this stage of the campaign.

The fiery German has increased his stock over the past two years and has guided Dortmund to a Champions League final to boot. With Barcelona sitting four points adrift Atlético Madrid with five games to go, the Catalans would more than likely let Martino go.

The same goes with Manchester United who have touted out ex Barcelona coach Louis van Gaal and who are now interested in Klopp. The Red Devils have had a dismal season and are seventh in the Premier League. They were knocked out on Wednesday by Bayern Munich and will surely miss out on Champions League football next year. If Klopp went to Manchester United, he would have to take that into consideration whereas Barça are assured of Champions League football next year unless disaster strikes!

Klopp is a very attractive proposition for both clubs and he has shown he is worth his salt by winning two Bundesliga titles and reaching the Champions League final in just 6 years on a shoestring budget.

About Aaron

My name's Aaron and I'm a great Barça fan. I like to tell it like it is and if there is something I don't like about the club or something that needs addressing, you'll know!
