Spanish League hopes are still alive says Barcelona’s Alexis Sánchez

Barcelona’s Alexis Sánchez doesn’t know what all the fuss is about and reckons that the Catalans are not high and dry just yet. Alexis came on in the second half of the match against Valladolid which saw his team lose 1 nil. He says that it’s time to stay united and that “we are all part of Barça and we have the same aim”.

Alexis was speaking to the press today about the match against Valladolid which saw Barça’s defense of their La Liga title take a hit.

“It was a strange game, but we have to put it behind us now and not feel sorry for ourselves. We have to be positive because we have an important game ahead”. Alexis also said that boss Gerardo Martino had urged the team: “forget the Valladolid game and focus on City”.

Alexis also believes that now is the time for the Catalan giants to pull it together and remain united: “we are all part of Barça and we have the same aim. The league isn’t lost, just as when we were on the top people were wrong to say we had it won. We are in the fight for all the titles. I am hungry to win and so are all my team mates – we want to win everything, the League, Champions League and the Cup. I don’t know anyone in the squad who doesn’t want that”.

Alexis Sánchez finished off by saying that Martino is like Pep Guardiola, in the fact that he knows how to motivate the team. He also sends out a warning saying that Manchester City will be fired up to play Barcelona at the Camp Nou despite having lost the first leg 2 nil at the Etihad stadium.
