Jean Marie Dongou signs new deal at Barça

Spanish sports newspaper Marca reports that the pair have each signed on until 2017, with release clauses of around €17m.

The African duo are only 18 years old apiece and Jean Marie Dongou was called up for international duty with Cameroon this year, although the player has yet to make his first 11 debut. Meanwhile Bagnack has yet to play for the Barcelona first team.

Dongou came to the Nou Camp through the Samuel Eto’o Foundation in 2008, joining la Barça’s famed Masia youth program when he was just 13 years old.He has made 57 appearances for the Barça B team and notched up 9 goals.

“I am very happy at signing my new contract,” Dongou said.

“This is a very important day in my career. I’m very excited to continue working and improving.”

We feel sure these two youngsters will be a part of the Barça of the future. Like all young stars at the club, they will have to bide their time and capitalise on the playing time that Gerardo Martino offers them. It’s not easy for youngsters to sit it out and wait but when you’re playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world, that’s the price you have to pay, unfortunately.

About Aaron

My name's Aaron and I'm a great Barça fan. I like to tell it like it is and if there is something I don't like about the club or something that needs addressing, you'll know!
