Young gun Cristian Tello is not happy with his current lot at the Catalan giants, Barca. It’s quite obvious that new coach Tata Martino isn’t giving the young player the playing time he needs and will certainly force an exit from the Blaugranas if his situation at the club doesn’t improve. Tello said, “I’m young and I want to play and enjoy myself”.
However, Tello won’t be making any decisions until the end of the current campaign.
“If it’s not possible to play with Barça, I’m considering leaving”, he stated during the presentation of some new boots. Cristian Tello signed a new contract last summer and is therefore tied to the club until June 2018.
Another one of Barca’s young guns in the shape of Martín Montoya backed up Cristian Tello’s stance. “We’ll speak with the club. We’re in negotiations. I’m young and I want to keep playing”, he added. These statements come at the same time as there is a reported interest from Merseyside to bring the full-back to Liverpool FC.
Tello is a great player and has put in some stellar performances for the Catalan giants. Martino faces a big problem if he doesn’t field him and give him more playing time and the club will end up with another Thiago Alcántara situation. Thiago couldn’t hang around for Xavi to hang his boots up and these days you can’t expect young talent to sit it out on the bench, even if it’s the Barca bench, and wait patiently.
It’s quite clear that Cristian Tello will go to Liverpool or another big club who wants to snap up the promising young man.
