Sergio Busquets was speaking at a press conference yesterday and gave his views on current events at FC Barcelona. “We’re fine, although several of our players have arrived from long trips. We’ll try and recover, but there will be no excuses. Osasuna is a tough opponent. We’ve suffered there in the past, but we hope to bring home all three points.”
Busquets didn’t want to be drawn into a debate about the upcoming “clasico” against Real Madrid on 26th October. He said that the team is just focussed on Osasuna as they will be some tough opposition. He suggested that if Barca didn’t come away with three points, the league could be blown wide open.
Speaking about the squad rotations that team coach Gerardo Martino has put in place, the player said that he thought the rotations were good, as long as the team is winning.
Speaking about the imminent return of his captain, Carles Puyol, Busquets stressed how important he was in the dressing room and on the pitch. He said that Puyol still needs to get match fit but the captain was happy and he would bring a lot to the team.
Sergio Busquets also had time to mention Alexis Sánchez and his great start to the season. He said that Alexis has always been an important player and that Barca greatly value his contribution to the team.
