Carles Puyol ready to join first team again

While Adrià Vilanova, the son of Tito Vilanova, has trained for the first time with the first team,  his debut has coincided on the day that Carles Puyol has made it clear in a small group game that he is more than ready to return to play.

All indications are that Carles Puyol will be soon discharged. The “peoples Tarzan” spoke of his “good feelings”: “It’s one more step! I’m very happy to return to play a game. Not long to go. Good night!” was the message posted on his Twitter account.

This Friday (today), Tata Martino will announce the squad for the Almería – Barcelona match on Saturday (18.00 hours). The Catalan giants following match will be against Celtic in the Champions League before playing Valladolid at home in the league.

Barcelona’s captain fantastic talked a lot with Argentine coach Martino during the preparatory session at the Ciutat Esportiva and once in action, was as concentrated as ever, as can be seen in the video below.

16 year old central defender Adrià Vilanova took part in the training session with the team players along with three other junior members – Roger Riera, Julen Arellano and Dani Segura.

One interesting fact is that Carles Puyol has lost 4 Kg in order to put less strain on his knees and be able to get back into the squad quicker.
