Vicente del Bosque has remarked in diariodelaroja.es that Victor Valdes’ behaviour is faultless despite the strong influence from certain people that are telling him not to put up with the current situation.
“He’s under some strong pressure by people telling him to not put up with the situation. He’s a great person, a fine kid. He’s like Pepe Reina whose behaviour is flawless,” said Del Bosque.
The coach from Salamanca, a city in northwestern Spain, said that he spoke to Real Madrid stopper Iker Casillas before the game against Finland. “I spoke to Iker to ask whether he was fit. I like to give explanations, but sometimes it is better to be sparing with words and say little. It was 6th September, and there was the usual dose of training sessions and games.”
Del Bosque continues to value the reliability of the Spain goal: “There are three goalkeepers. Any of them could play if it were on sporting merit alone. I always focus on the coexistence of the three goalkeepers within the Spain team”.
