Victor Valdes still adamant on leaving FC Barcelona

Sandro Rosell said that last Sunday he had tried to convince Victor Valdes to reconsider his position and not leave Barcelona at the end of this season. Rosell was unsuccessful in his bid as the player stuck to his guns.

However, the Barca president hasn’t thrown in the towel just yet and hoped that by June, Victor Valdes has a change of heart. It does not look like it’s going to happen though. Valdes has made it very clear that he will leave the Catalan giants at the end of the season. The Barca stopper came to the decision to leave the club many months ago and since then, although many people have told him to re-think his plans, the goalkeeper is adamant that he will leave the Nou Camp.

Barcelona is fully aware of this situation and has been looking for another goalkeeper. It looks like Barcelona will not make any final decisions on who replaces Valdés until the end of the season, when they are absolutely sure that he will leave the side.

On another note, Sandro Rosell was elected vice president of the Asociación Europea de Clubes yesterday (European Club Association), at a meeting held yesterday morning in Geneva, which he attended with Raul Sanllehí.
