Leo Messi has apparently recovered from his muscle discomfort problem and trained on Monday morning with the rest of his teammates at Barca’s training ground.
The Argentine star was unable to finish the first leg of the Spanish Supercup final at the Vicente Calderon stadium in Madrid and had to be replaced in the second half.
His discomfort from the intramuscular hematoma (accumulation of blood that clots within a muscle) in his left thigh neither allowed Messi to play against Malaga in the second game of the season where Barca won by a goal to nil from a great strike by Adriano, who is also doubtful for Wednesday’s clash.
Leo Messi trained normally in the first training session after the league match on Sunday and looks like he’ll be set to start against Atletico on Wednesday evening at the Nou Camp.
As we mentioned, Adriano Correia will be doubtful for the second leg of the Supercup after suffering a hamstring.
The Brazilian player was the main hero in the match against Malaga in the league, giving the Catalans victory with his fine effort (0-1). However, Adriano was brought off at half time and replaced by fellow compatriot Alves as a precaution.
The club’s medical services are waiting to see how the injury progresses to determine whether he’ll be fit enough to face Atletico.
It’s good to be back.
