Real Madrid prepare to unveil Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale left his calling card back in october 2010 when he scored his first senior hat-trick against Inter-Milan in the Champions League.

That hat-trick put Bale among the world’s best and st the stage for what will happen in the coming days.

Santiago Bernabeu

The stage is set is for Gareth Bale’s move to Spanish giants Real Madrid – if you take into consideration the above picture of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

According to UK newspaper the Daily Mirror a platform has been erected at the stadium as Real Madrid finally prepare themselves for the arrival of 24-year-old Gareth Bale.

Rumours suggest that the Welshman is set for a world record £85 million transfer, with a deal thought to be only hours away from completion.

The Tottenham player was pictured leaving the club’s training ground yesterday, which looks like being for the final time.

The transfer package is set to eclipse the £80million Real Madrid paid Manchester united for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

The UK newspaper even had a section with Spanish words that Bale would certainly need when he arrives in Spain with ‘Hola, me llamo Gareth’ being the most popular.

Being such a high profile transfer, it makes us think of the Fernando Torres transfer deal. He signed for Chelsea and cost a reported £50M from Liverpool.

However, he hasn’t lived up to expectations and comparisons to Torres are bound to be flying about if Bale doesn’t cut it at Real Madrid.

It’s an awful lot of money to spend on a player. Whether he’s worth it or not, only time can tell. The market supply and demand usually dictates a player’s worth and if Real are ready to stump up  £80million, then he must be worth it to them.
