Pedro and Jordi Alba miss training in Malaysia ahead of final match

Barcelona had their first training session in Malaysia yesterday afternoon after the plane arrived 2 hours late from Thailand today. The session took place without left-back Jordi Alba and striker Pedro Rodriguez, who were said to be working in the gym, according to the Catalan club.

After Wednesday’s match against Thailand, Barca continues its preseason tour of Asia, where new coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino was busily preparing a closed training session at the Alam Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

Pedro did some recovery work in the hotel’s gym after he left the field after Barca’s last game suffering from a bruised calf muscle of his right leg, while Jordi Alba has a nagging cold.

The Catalan giants confirmed the absence of Pedro, who will miss the final game of the Asian tour. FC Barcelona will play against a combined group of Malaysian players on Saturday in the final game before the new season gets under way.

Meanwhile, Cristian Tello and Jonathan Dos Santos, who carried out a few training sessions in Thailand away from the main squad and missed the last game in which Barca netted seven goals, carried out a normal session with the rest of their teammates.

Tello has recovered from the hamstring injury of his left leg, while Dos Santos has overcome the thigh strain he picked up in his right leg.

If everything goes to plan, both players could get some playing time in the game on Saturday, which is the last preseason game before the start of the new season.
