Parallel to the signing of Neymar, FC Barcelona agreed with Santos the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two organizations to promote youth football and exchange knowledge.
The document, which Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo have had access to, was signed on 24th May by Barca president Sandro Rosell, vice president Josep Maria Bartomeu and vice president of Santos, Odilo Rodriguez.
Both parties showed their willingness to work together in the education of players and the sharing of knowledge at a grassroots level of football. In addition, the Catalan giants also showed great interest in three of the club’s young talents.
Barca are interested in forwards Victor Andrade (17), Gabriel Barbosa (Gabigol) (16) and Giva (20).
7 million euros in total
In the document, Barca expresses their interest in acquiring the rights of preference to some players for the agreed prices:
1) Victor Andrade, for the value of 2.5M euros
2) Gabriel Barbosa (Gabigol), for the amount of 2.3M euros
3) Giva, for the amount of 2.2M euros
The strange thing is that the total amount specified in the document amounts to 7M euros, figures that do not match with what is specified in the same document because Andrade is shown to be valued at 3.2M euros, Barbosa for 2.9M and Giva for 1.8M
This gives a total of 7.9M euros, meaning there is a difference of some 900,000 euros.
Reserves for the Joan Gamper Trophy
All three of these players are in Barcelona to compete in the Joan Gamper Trophy tonight with Santos. However, Andrade, Barbosa and Giva will be on the bench. Another piece of interesting news is that both Victor Andrade as Giva finish their contracts with Santos in 2014, which means that in January, they could be negotiating with Barca.
that’s good deal for barca and santos
