It appears that Real Madrid want the Welsh wizard Gareth Bale at all costs. Real have made some exceptional signings this summer including Isco from Malaga but they still insist on Gareth Bale.
According to the Sun, Real Madrid have a mega £51m wage deal agreed with Bale over 5 years.
Add to that the hefty £80m price tag that the Madrid giants will also have to shell out and we are standing before a monster deal for the Welshman.
Spurs could probably do with the cash in their coffers but manager Andre Villas-Boas says he’s ready to fight to keep the 24 year-old lad at White Hart Lane.
The fee would also match that which Real paid for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009 and Madrid are looking to a pairing similar to that of Barca’s Messi-Neymar.
Tottenham are currently on their pre-season tour in Hong Kong where they are playing Sunderland in the Premier League Asia Trophy.
Andre Villas-Boas had this to say: “I want to repeat what I was telling you last season and at the start of the summer.
“He is a Tottenham player, one of the most fantastic players in the world and we are counting on him for the future.
“Unfortunately he won’t be fit to face Sunderland as he’s recovering from a knock in training. But we expect him to feature in our second game.”
Spanish newspaper Marca, which is partisan towards Real Madrid, stated that Gareth Bale had told Spurs top brass that he wished to join the Spanish giants.
Although the player has not handed in a transfer request, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been told by Bale that he would like to join Real this summer, if reports by Marca are to be true. Reports also suggest that Florentino Pérez, Real’s president, has reportedly already spoken to Levy.
Meanwhile, one of our favourites of La Liga, Roberto Soldado could be heading over to White Hart Lane. Tottenham’s director of football Franco Baldini was in Spain on Monday to meet with Soldado’s representatives.
Villas-Boas expressed an interest in Roberto Soldado and admitted that the North London club had been keeping tabs on him. Meanwhile, Valencia president Amadeo Salvo, who could do with the cash admitted that Roberto Soldado can leave but for £26m and “not a penny more, not a penny less.”

I have extremely reliable information that UEFA are planning to introduce Financial rules that would severely affect certain teams. Real Madrid would be one of them. It would not only lead to quite severe points réductions , leading to no prospect of Champions League football for at least 3 or 4 years but a total overhaul of certain clubs Financial structures.
Spurs don’t ‘really’ need the money ‘that much’.
Bale is a marketer’s dream – an astute business man like Daniel Levy will know this.
Anyone who believes anything Marca say has the cognitive faculties of a pilchard.
Spurs could sell Bale in a year, two years, even three, and he would still have his prime years as a player in front of him – for which they should be able to command a massive fee, after having made a marketing fortune from him, built a team, that is good already, capable of coping without him, qualified for CL regularly AND hopefully have won some trophies (inlcuding a Premier League title or two – with a bit of luck).
This is just the start, same as the three years it took your lot to get Fabregas from Arsenal.
