Valencia, Sevilla, Real Sociedad and Dortmund courting Gerard Deulofeu

Valencia is keen to get Barca’s Gerard Deulofeu on loan said ‘Supersport’ yesterday. The Valencia club wants to strengthen their squad in order to regain their place in the Champions League but barely have the resources to sign players and is therefore looking to the youth academies of Barca and Madrid to do so.

And among all the young talent that is included high on the list of Valencia sporting director Braulio Vázquez, is Barca’s Gerard Deulofeu, who the Catalan club wants to loan out to a team that will be playing in Europe.

Valencia meets all the requirements demanded by Barca, too: a team that plays two games a week, is run by a good coach, plays one touch football and is offensive, as in the case of Miroslav Djukic, who has just landed the manager’s job at Mestalla.

In addition, FC Barcelona has in its future wish list two Valencia central players in the shape of Frenchmen Adil Rami, right-footed and Jérémy Mathieu, who is left-footed.

Deulofeu’s arrival to the Valencian outfit could prompt the departure of one of the defenders as both have an affordable buyout clause: Mathieu, 8M euros, and Rami, 12.5M euros.

Last summer, Rami’s clause was 25M, but various sources from Valencia have reported this to be halved.

Other teams who also want to convince Barca and Deulofeu are Andalusian side Sevilla who are offering Kondgobia, and Real Sociedad. But the offer that most excites both Barca and Gerard Deulofeu is that of Borussia Dortmund, who already wanted to sign the young star last summer.

Finally there is one final and remote option left open for Gerard: to stay at the Catalan club. Tito Vilanova’s desire is to have Deulofeu in the first team, push him in training and play him in the reserves when not summoned to the first eleven. It appears though that the young Gerard Deulofeu would rather be an important piece in another team than be someone that Vilanova can count on in times of need.
