Sevilla interested in Gerard Deulofeu

Sevilla is on the lookout for a substitute for Jesús Navas who has just signed for Manchester City. In fact, the club has been looking around for a while now.

The Andalusian club is in love with Gerard Deulofeu, the jewel in the Barcelona youth system who has just signed a renewal of his contract and who knows that his future may be far off from the first team next season. In fact, Gerard Deulofeu has already said publicly that a loan spell is an option that he doesn’t mind at all.

Sevilla became interested a few weeks ago in the player proposing the club as a possible way out for the youngster to reach the Barca first team as a permanent fixture in the future. Barca doesn’t even want to include a buying option for the player either as they value him highly.

Gerard Deulofeu is a player that has matured a lot this year in the B team and also with the Spanish U 21 side and the attention of many clubs has been drawn to him. Therefore, many suitors are waiting to see what Barcelona says about the possibility of a loan deal.

However, Sevilla has news that Borussia Dortmund has more options and is advanced in talks about a loan deal for Deulofeu. It is pretty clear that Sevilla cannot compete with Dortmund for the player but there are other conditions that lead us to believe that there could be a possibility that Sevilla gets its man.

The first is that both Deulofeu and Barcelona want him to play as many games as in order to get the most minutes on the pitch. The problem with a team like Borussia Dortmund is that it has a lot of quality players and that situation ensures that no player’s first team place is ever safe.

Also, in recent days another problem has arisen. Luis Alberto knows that Barca will not sign him and will return to Sevilla. Luis Alberto also has a very good relationship with Gerard Deulofeu.

Moreover, as told by Spanish sports paper Marca, the player doesn’t mind the idea of playing for Sevilla and the Catalan has even traveled with his teammate to the Andalusian capital.

Also, the player will let his club Barcelona decide his future and Sevilla are waiting on the Barca’s decision.

What is evident this year with Sevilla is that it will have to try and sign some players from the big clubs and are therefore waiting to see who Tito Vilanova will release this summer.

The coaches at Sevilla like several of Barca’s young stock and are waiting for news about them.
Marc Bartra will renew his contract, Rafinha, who had a great season in the B team as midfielder and Afellay, who returns after being on loan to Schalke 04, are the ones targeted. The Dutchman is liked by Monchi – even more so with the departure of Jesús Navas.

About Aaron

My name’s Aaron and I’m a great Barça fan. I like to tell it like it is and if there is something I don’t like about the club or something that needs addressing, you’ll know!
