Barca turns its attention to loans and transfers

After landing South America’s hottest property Neymar, Barcelona must turn its attention to the injured players in the squad before adding new players on the team sheet for the 2013-2014 season.

Aside from the players who can make use of their buyout clause like Thiago, Tello or Eric Abidal, who has already called time as a player at the Catalan club, Barcelona wants to sort out its players who are returning home after being loaned out, new loan deals and the first team players who won’t be playing at the club next season or who are on the market.

Afellay, Bojan, Fontas and Cuenca are returning after their loan spells and the idea of the Catalan club is to transfer them, except in the case of Cuenca, who Barca wanted to loan out again but finds himself without a team after being operated on his knee again.

Afellay and Fontàs are transferable like Bojan, who has already made it clear he will not accept another loan spell after his Rome and Milan adventure. Also on the list of transferable players is Jonathan dos Santos, who renewed his contract in 2011 to June 30, 2015.

Marc Muniesa on the other hand is out of contract but is very close to an agreement with Real Sociedad with Ajax also showing some interest.

Regarding Marc Bartra, who still has a year left on his contract, the club wants to renew it, but after the relatively small role he’s played this year, the player would like to study his options.

Rafinha will move up to the first team but only to be loaned out like Deulofeu, who’s in talks with Borussia Dortmund.

One of the players who has the clearest route of exit is David Villa. The player will be able to command a decent figure in order for the club to recoup some money laid out in the buying of Neymar from Santos.

His performance against Malaga was like a farewell and Tottenham are very interested in his services. North London rivals Arsenal virtually had the player transferred in the winter, but now the club has changed its priorities.

Regarding Thiago and Tello, both have very affordable buyout clauses, so they could choose to try their luck elsewhere. Barca is counting on them but the decision is up to the players. Finally, keeper Victor Valdes took to the social networks and said that he plans to fulfill his contract, which ends next season.
