Leo Messi will undergo an MRI on Tuesday morning to determine the exact extent of the hamstring injury of his right leg, according to sources from Barcelona. The feeling within the club is not good and it is highly unlikely that he will not be on the field for the last three remaining league games.
As reported by Catalan TV station TV3 this morning, Messi decided on his own impulse not to go today to the Creu Blanca clinic where he was scheduled to undergo various medical tests. The clinic itself emphasized the fact that what will define the severity of Messi’s injury is a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test and not an ultrasound test.
Other Catalan media claim that Messi has been subjected to an ultrasound test at the Sant Joan Despi training ground although the club has not confirmed this.
Messi felt pain on Sunday at the Vicente Calderon in the area where he suffered his last injury, which conditioned his performance in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the Champions League.
The other player who was called in by the club’s medical services and did attend the Creu Blanca clinic was Eric Abidal, who suffered a micro rupture of the soleus muscle of his left leg while training on Saturday.

Meanwhile, earlier on today, the coaching staff and squad were celebrating winning the league in a restaurant in the town of Sant Quirze del Valles, just north of Barcelona. Afterwards, the team later came back to Barcelona to celebrate the title with their fans in the streets of the Catalan capital.
