Robert Lewandowski wants to leave in the summer according to his agent

Polish hitman Robert Lewandowski wants to leave Borussia Dortmund in summer. The 24 year-old Polish striker, who made history by becoming the first player since Puskas to score four goals in a Champions League semi-final, had apparently already decided to leave the German outfit.

“Robert wants to leave in the summer,” confirmed his representative, Maik Barthel, just a day after his blistering performance against Real Madrid. In Germany, ‘Bild‘ is speaking about offers of around 25 million euros from Bayern Munich who, 48 hours earlier, confirmed the signing of another Borussia Dortmund star, 20 year-old Mario Götze.

“There is a very interesting offer for Robert, who meets the criteria imposed by Borussia Dortmund in full and which also meets the demands of the player. Borussia has assured us that under these conditions, Robert could switch teams at the end of the season.”

“We are adhering to the agreements, now the clubs must provide some clarity,” said Barthel talking about a ‘supposed agreement’ between the two clubs that should materialize before 15th May in order to become effective.

However, Borussia Dortmund wants to stop its stars from leaving en masse and has therefore decided to improve players’ contracts with a corresponding rise in wages. In fact, the news about Mario Götze leaving the club just hours before the match against Madrid bothered the fans to such an extent that the German club had to ask for respect via the video scoreboards around the stadium. Even Borussia Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp admitted his annoyance at the timing of the announcement of Mario Götze’s move to Bayern Munich.

People will be watching to see if Dortmund can keep hold of other stars such as Reus, Gundogan or even Lewandowski himself who could end up with Jose Mourinho at West London club, Chelsea. Fans will also be watching any movement from sports manager Michael Zorc, regarding future signings for the German club.

  1. Why can’v Barcelona, sign Lewandowski!? I mean, he’s not in the price range of Falcao and Cavani, yet does similar job. He’s tall, not lazy (Zlatan, anyone), good good one-two link up play, and great Predatory instinct (which only two Barca players do: Messi n Alexis, none of whom are tall. In addition, Messi won’t stay in or close to the Box; Alexis, whose very willing to do so, won’t be tasked by Tito to play there). Just look at the empty void in the CF area against Bayern. Instead of trying to help the defence by having both Pedro n Alexis running up n down the wings, we could’ve Played Alexis as a 75% cf (close to Boateng). With that, u just play Iniesta as a wide left midfielder with Alba, not Alves, overlapping. The reason was simple to see even in the first half. Alba going forward risky? No way compared to Alves going forward and isolating young Bartra! Why not have Alves play in our own half as a right BACK, let Alba do the attacking behind Ini, and play Abidal left side of Pique. That would’s easily allow him to play front faced with Robben n co, have Pique central with Busi already helping. Pep played very similar defensive strategies (with Puyol in instead of Alba) including the 1st leg liga 3-1 win over madrid in 2011-12.
I’m sorry to say, but where i lost complete faith in Tito’s acumen is 1st, his delayed tactical switches (if any), and his decision to sub Pedro for Villa. Why not Bartra. We NEEDED a life-saving Away goal since the 2-zero. Couldn’t he pinch back Busi, have Xavi as the DM and both Villa n Alexis around the box, with Bartra obviously subbed. Heal, the kid could have avoide both the corners we were scored from being corners had he got the physique n height (Pique, Abidal). Ah, how i miss Guardiola.
