Milan put Barca’s hopes of a triple on standby

It was an unexpected defeat last night at the San Siro stadium for Barcelona losing 0-2 to a very disciplined and quality A.C Milan side. Barca knew it wasn’t going to be a walk in the park and now face the second leg of the tie 2 goals adrift with everything to play for. If anyone is able to turn the tables on Milan it has to be Barcelona who have much homework to do before the clash at the Nou Camp.

Ex Barca star Gabriel Milito shows up for yesterday’s training session

As Barcelona conducted their final preparatory training session ahead of tonight’s game against A.C Milan in the first leg of their Champions League clash they had a surprise visit from ex Blaugrana Gabi Milito. Xavi Hernandez is likely to start tonight after receiving the all clear and Barca are worried about the state of the San Siro pitch.

Eric Abidal to be discharged later this week

Barcelona defender and French international Eric Abidal looks set to be discharged by the end of the week. Abidal has come a long way since his liver transplant and has been training with the rest of the team. The news comes at a great time for the Catalan club when winning the triple is a reality for them this year under Tito Vilanova and Jordi Roura.

Bojan Krkic is relishing the chance to meet up with ex club Barcelona on Wednesday evening for the first leg clash between A.C Milan and FC Barcelona. The ex Blaugrana striker said that Barca is the best in world but the San Siro commands respect. Bojan wants to win and AC Milan will not be satisfied with a draw he said.

We won’t stop until we are champions affirms Jordi Alba

Barcelona winger Jordi Alba has said that the Catalan giants will not stop until they are champions. Alba, speaking after the match at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes in Granada said that he was pleased with the result on a “very difficult ground”. He also said that teammate Leo Messi’s new record of 301 goals in a Barca shirt was both good for him and the club.

Leo Messi rescues Barcelona from Granada’s bewitchment

It had to be Leo Messi who came to the rescue in the 73rd minute to make it 1-2 to Barcelona against Granada last night. Messi broke the spell of the Granada team who scored first and then bewitched Barcelona, with a rebound goal that Toño couldn’t control from Cesc and then a beautiful free-kick from outside the area which flew past the keeper to his right.

Arsenal eyes up Barca keeper Victor Valdes

After learning the news that Victor Valdés will leave the Catalan giants in the summer transfer window, Arsenal have been eyeing up the Catalan keeper as a rock solid replacement. Valdés is someone that a great championship winning team can be built around and Wenger knows this. With Valdés wanting to experiment with new cultures and most of the top spots taken, Arsenal could be an attractive move for the keeper.

Barca want a minimum of €20Million Euros for David Villa

FC Barcelona have made it clear that they want a minimum of €20Million Euros for the striker David Villa. Spain’s top scorer Villa wants regular first team football and is not getting it at Barcelona so wants out. The Spaniard runs out of contract in 2014 and Barca will either have to sell him in the summer, with a host of clubs already lined up to sign him, or let him go free the following year.
