The representatives of Barcelona’s Victor Valdes have told the club at a meeting this afternoon that the goalkeeper will not renew his contract with FC Barcelona. Valdes’ contract runs out on 30th June 2014 and will not be renewing. Valdes has already said this month that he would like a change of scenery and would like to try other cultures and football before he finally retires from football.

Coach Tito Vilanova, sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta along with a host of Barcelona’s stars including captain Carles Puyol have all endorsed Guardiola’s move and wish him all the best for the future.

Fine goals from both Lionel Messi and Carles Puyol and a few missed chances failed to put the Catalan club in the driving seat for next week’s decider.

The Catalan, who is on a sabbatical in New york, has penned a three-year deal at the Allianz Arena stadium and will take over from Jupp Heynckes in July. It was Barcelona showboating their awesome skills at the highest possible level. Normally such quick and intricate passing combinations are usually reserved for the training field but Barca prefers to use their skill on the pitch.
