Arsenal gets ready 12Million Euros to sign David Villa

North London club Arsenal are busy getting ready to make a move for Barca striker David Villa if we are to read correctly what the tabloid newspaper The Sun has to say. Villa could be heading to the Gunners to team up with Santi Cazorla for a fee of around 12Million euros. Vilanova still doesn’t want the Spaniard to leave despite not counting on him as in the past.

Malaga game is our first match ball of the season says Jordi Roura

Barca coach Jordi Roura has spoken of the second leg crunch game against Malaga on Thursday at La Rosaleda as Barca’s “first match ball” of the season. He says that the team’s spirit and morale are high after some poor results but Barcelona will be going all out for a win. Toulalán and Isco won’t be playing for malaga but Roura still thinks that that their squad won’t be affected.

According to ex Bayern Munich and Chelsea star Michael Ballack believes that Pep Guardiola snubbed Roman Abramovich’s “Blues” because of trust issues. Everyone expected Guardiola to go to the Premier League this year and Chelsea were prepared to break the bank to get the Catalan to sign a deal before the news broke that he was to be the new Bayern Munich manager.

Dani Alves is a shadow of his former self when he would regularly provide goal assists and Barcelona could count on him. Although Tito Vilanova is giving the Brazilian playing time, Alves’ figures are not adding up like they used to. The Catalan club is relying on hime to return to his former self and be the player he once was which helped Guardiola in his four year spell as Barca coach.

Barca’s winning streak halted by Real Sociedad

Barcelona’s magnificent run of 10 away game wins hit a brick wall last night against a very strong Real Sociedad side at the Anoeta stadium in San Sebastián. Barca were winning by 2 goals to one at half time but the tables were turned in the second half when defender Gerard Piqué was sent off for picking up two yellow cards. Barca were then punished by Real Sociedad who went on to score another 2 goals.

Barcelona were ready to offer Valdes 8M euros per season

If Barcelona stopper Victor Valdes’ agents had taken the time to listen to the Catalan club’s offer, they would have learnt that they were willing to pay him 8M euros per season putting the player among Barca’s highest paid stars like Xavi, Iniesta or Villa. The club has said that money was no problem and Valdes’ contract renewal proposal had already been very well studied.

Where will Victor Valdes go after Barcelona?

After the shock announcement of Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes that he will not renew his contract and that his decision is irrevocable, the big question is this: Where will Valdes end his footballing career? Victor’s contract expires in June 2014 and the keeper will be 32 years old and has expressed a desire to know other cultures and football. Is he bound for Brazil?
