Barca playmaker Sergio Busquets was talking at a press conference about the Copa del Rey semi final crunch game against Real Madrid on Wednesday: “We are very well prepared for this clasico match. A good result for us would be to win in Madrid and not draw”.
The Barcelona midfielder said that despite the 15-point gap in La Liga between the two clubs, it has little to do with this Cup clash: “La Copa del Rey is a different competition. We hope to get a good result.”
Sergio Busquets believes it will be an even game, and it doesn’t matter if either team has players out injured. He added: “We must approach this game from our point of view. The tie will not be resolved at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.”
As for Messi, who grabbed four goals against Osasuna on Sunday and has 33 goals to his name this season, Busquets said that the Argentine is “spectacular” and does not need the “extra motivation”, referring to the three goals Cristiano Ronaldo scored against Getafe hours before Barca’s game against Osasuna, to demonstrate that the Argentine maestro is “the best player in the world.”
Talking about Xavi Hernandéz, who signed the renewal of his contract with Barca on Monday, Busquets called him an example that he always looks up to.
24 year-old Busquets said finally that he hasn’t got anything planned for his future. “I’m too young. I’m just thinking about enjoying the present and I do not know what the future holds for me.”
Next week the little Argentine will sign and commit to the Blaugrana club until 2018. Messi’s renewal comes after Barca captain Carles Puyol and midfielder Xavi penned their new deals with the club.
