Premier League on alert as Guardiola sets return date

guardiola to make return
Pep Guardiola has set the Premier League’s pulses racing as he sets a return date for managing a club again after his sabbatical. Guardiola left Barcelona last year after four of the most wonderful seasons that the Catalan club have ever seen.

Premier League clubs that are on alert are Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and now north London club, Arsenal. If he goes to the Premier League it would be an extremely good catch for whoever lands him.

Guardiola was speaking at the 2012 FIFA Ballon d’Or awards in Switzerland last night and confirmed that next season, he will be back to manage a club but he doesn’t know which one yet. The 41 year old who turns 42 next week added that he will return to coaching because he’s young.

It seems that Guardiola’s first choice would be to manage a club in the Premier League and Chelsea’s Russian owner is desperate to land him. Roberto Mancini’s future at Manchester City has also hit a few bumps in recent time and could be outed to make way for Guardiola.

Ex Barcelona star Txiki Beguiristain, who appointed Guardiola as Barca boss is also at City and could be the key for landing Guardiola at the light blues.

Red Devils boss Alex Ferguson, who’s team drew 2-2 with West Ham United in the FA Cup on Saturday,  says he will stay at United for a couple of years more — but if he were to change his mind, then Guardiola is Number One choice at Old Trafford.

If Arsene Wenger were to step down after 17 years at the helm, then Arsenal would also be likely to make a move for the Catalan coach from the town of Santpedor.

Pep Guardiola won an amazing tally of 14 out of 18 possible trophies during his four year stay at FC Barcelona and it is this type of pedigree that everyone wants to buy into.
