Brazilian Dani Alves spoke out at a press conference today about the so called “preferential treatment” some of La Liga stars are enjoying. He said that the tackle on him by Cristiano Ronaldo was a clear red card and he should have walked. Alves also spoke out about the racial abuse problem that is rampant in Spain and called for more crackdowns.

After a frantic first half with no goals but on the edge of your seat action, it was left up to Cesc Fabregás and young Frenchman Raphael Varane to draw the match in the second half to set up a thrilling second leg semi final at the Nou Camp. The first leg of La Copa del Rey semi final has come at a good time for Barcelona after beating Osasuna 5-1 at the Nou Camp with Leo Messi grabbing four goals. Speaking of Messi, he said that the Argentine doesn’t need any extra motivation to perform well on Wednesday, referring to Ronaldo’s hat trick against Getafe.

It was an exciting game last night at La Rosaleda and Barca had to bring their A game to beat a stubborn Malaga who were determined to rain on Barcelona’s parade. Barcelona now go on to meet Real Madrid in the semi finals of the Copa del Rey.

Official: Xavi Hernandez to pen contract extension on Monday

Some great news for Barca fans all over: Xavi Henandez is to sign a new contract extension on Monday. The FC Barcelona midfielder who hails from Terrassa, which is a small town just outside Barcelona, will effectively be at the club until 2016. Xavi will be followed by Messi who will probably pen his new deal sometime next week.
