It appears that Manchester United’s Sir Alex Ferguson or Fergie has had another word in ex Barca coach Pep Guardiola’s ear!
Ferguson has met up with Guardiola in New York this week as the ex Barcelona coach contemplates what to do after his sabbatical. The ex coach is still undecided about what he wants to do or where he wants to go and it looks like Fergie is giving him a helping hand!
Ferguson flew out to the Big Apple this week with his wife for a pre-Xmas break. It is understood that he has met up with Guardiola again where both men have apartments in the city.
Sources say that Ferguson doesn’t know whether to extend his contract and prolong his mind boggling 26 year old reign at United. Ferguson turns 71 on 31st of December and is unsure if he wants to do another season at the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, the ex Barca star coach is available and it looks like he’d prefer the Manchester United job over clubs like Chelsea and Bayern Munich who have also expressed their desire to sign the great man.
The Catalan coach is by far the preferred man to do the job according to United sources – way ahead of Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho or David Moyes of Everton. He is also the preferred one by the master himself – Fergie.
Manchester United legend and director Bobby Charlton was recently asked about Real Madrid’s coach Jose Mourinho and said: “He is a really good coach but that’s as far as I would go.”
Pep Guardiola quit the big time last year to take a well earned rest and is currently living in New York with his family. Among the titles he picked up with Barcelona were 3 La Liga titles and 2 Champions League titles – which happened to be at the Red Devils’ expense.
